The Way You Look at Things

This is a conversation I had with a good friend of mine a while back, which has helped me daily. I will not name the friend, but she knows who she is. (May not be exact, but you get the point)

Me: Hows it going?
Her: Good, you?
Me: I've been better
Her: Whats wrong?
Me: I've been stuck in a rut lately, and it seems as though it is never going to end
Her: Sam it will get better, Just enjoy the things you have as they are
Me: I try, but it doesn't seem to help
Her: Sam, Go to your window and tell me what you see
Me: I see a car, tree, and the fact that my lawn needs to be mowed
Her: Go back to the window and look closer, look at how green the grass is, look at how the sun looks reflecting off of the ground, look at the rainbows in the dew on the grass. Its all there, you just need to look harder. Everything gets better, just enjoy the little things.
Me: Wow, I have never looked at it like that before, Thank you!!!

Since that day six months or so ago, I haven't looked at the world in quite the same light. Everything happens for a reason, and you just have to enjoy the finer points. I'm not saying that I don't get down, but when I do, I just think about that conversation, and what color is the grass really.

This was the view into work today. Taken with my Blackberry, on 70....
