New Years Eve!

Happy Monday All! I hope you had a great weekend, and maybe some of you are still off. On Saturday, I spent the day with my little brother on his 29th Birthday. We played video games, talked, went to Cabelas, played more video games, then went out to dinner. It was a great day. On Sunday, I cleaned, and did some studying. You can never read too much!

As I look back in the last year, a lot has happened.

-I went from weighing in at 306lbs, to weighing 190lbs.
-I have gotten back into the Army Reserves (And I've already been promoted).
-I started off in a relationship, and ended being single (Which is just peachy for me).
-I have met a lot of new people and have kept all the great friends that have always been here for me. -I paid my car off early.
-Plus much, much, more....

As we look forward to 2013, I look forward to everything I have left to give and do. I don't make New Years Resolutions, because they never work. All I know is I will make a decision on what I am going to do soon, and continue to lose weight to hit my goal. Everything else will come as I decide its what I want. We just have to see what the future holds.

Well I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve! Remember don't drink and drive. I will be relaxing in my home watching the LSU game, maybe drink a bottle of wine and crash out. I will be at the gym first thing in the morning, so I may not even stay up and watch the ball... We'll see...

Another Weekend on the Way!

Happy Friday All! Do you love short weeks as much as I do????

Well yesterday was a great time with good friends (Little Cold but we dealt with it). Free tickets on the 30 yard line, right above the band! San Jose State won, in a great game. Although, I don't think I have ever seen so many replay checks in a football game. I guess the Big 10 Refs had to make sure they got everything right.

This weekend is looking like another good one. Tomorrow I am heading up to my little brothers house to spend a little time with him on his birthday. I haven't seen him in a little while, so it should be fun. Sunday, I plan on cleaning the house and studying. Back to work on Monday, then off on Tuesday. I'm sure my plans will change, because they always do, but here we go!

Military Bowl

Happy Thursday All! God, I love short weeks! Today I will be attending the Military Bowl at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, with a couple of friends. We will be watching number 24 ranked San Jose State take on Bowling Green. It should be a fairly good game, and it will be my first Bowl game. We have to pick up the tickets when we get there (Yes, I have the vouchers already), I hope we get some good seats!

Last night, was my last time driving home in the snow with this car. Either I am buying a truck, or I will get a hotel room in Rockville. I'm just getting far too old to deal with assholes on the road with my car. I'm never going to get rid of the Mustang, but its time to be smart. Hotel rooms around here are fairly cheap. I'll just start to pack a bag and leave it in the car so theres no more slipping and sliding (and no more 2.5 hour commutes home....).

Cookies

Happy Hump Day All! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, surrounded by friends and family! Here is my life the last few days. Sorry there was no post on Monday, but I was a little pre-occupied.

Friday- Work then drove to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We spent 3 hours trying to get through Springfield. Other then that part it was smooth sailing.

Saturday- Woke up and went for a run. Only did 1 mile, but it hurt like hell. Went to Broadway at the Beach to look around a little, Then went out to lunch with my family. Then we took a field trip to Bass Pro Shop. Damn, I love that place. Afterwards, we went back to the house, ate dinner, then played some cards. Hot tub, then bed, because by this point I was exhausted.

Sunday- Started off shopping at Broadway again. Met up with an old friend from Maryland to have a few beers and watch the football games. The Jets lost, Redskins won, It was a lot of fun! Then it was back home to get ready for dinner. I took everyone out to the Brazilian Steakhouse.... It was as awesome as expected. They even had Sushi on the salad bar. I was in heaven. Afterwards we went back to the house to relax and watch TV.

Monday- Helped Dad with a little housework, then it was back to Broadway to buy some hot sauce. A little word to the wise, If it says Ghost Pepper on it, don't try it unless you enjoy crapping fire. I tried it, it tasted good, minus the whole burning sensation you get, but when it comes out, not so enjoyable. Then it was back home until dinner with the family and gifts. Dinner was great as always!

Tuesday- Woke up at 0330. Left the house at 0400. With 4 stops, I made it back to my house at 1130. Then I was just plain lazy the rest of the day. Took a nap, cleaned up the house from my cat being pissed off, and watched a movie.

All in all, it was a great time with friends and family! I ate entirely too much, and now its time to lose all the weight I just packed back on. I just couldn't leave the chocolates, and my Moms home made cookies alone. That's the only downfall of visiting! LOL. Guess I won't need a cookie fix for a long, long, time!

Happy Friday All!!!

Well I haven't seen any Meteors, The temperature has dropped significantly, and no brainless Zombies (Other than the usually DC traffic), so I guess the world isn't ending... I'm actually a little disappointed that I don't get to kill my first Zombie, but oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait on that.

My weekend coming up is slightly eventful, but here it is:

Friday- Work then driving to Myrtle Beach to be with my family during the holidays. There will be plenty of fun and shit jokes, I assure you.

Saturday- Not sure whats going on during the day. I know I will work out first thing in the morning, then I'm going fishing that night. What happens in between, who knows. I'm sure we can get into some sort of trouble!

Sunday- Workout in the morning, Brazilian steakhouse for dinner. I have been looking forward to this for a long time! If you haven't been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, I suggest you go! All-You-Can-Eat meat! Theres even bacon wrapped meat! What more can you ask for?

Monday- Family day. Good dinner that night!

Tuesday- Drive home. I'm sure there will be other things sprinkled throughout the weekend, but that's the plans so far!

End Of The World

Well Happy Thursday All! We are one step closer to Christmas, and the weather is yet to feel like it. Hopefully, most of you have or are taking a long weekend. If not, I'm sorry you have to work! However, it may not even matter, because today may be the last full day of our lives.

The Rapture is coming!!!!

There is an unbelievable amount of people that believe the world will end tomorrow. If its true, you better enjoy the last day of your life. If its not true, then you should live like every day is the last day. Lets take a look at a couple possible ends of the world:

1) The world will end with an extreme meteor shower that will devastate all life on this planet. It will bring increased temperatures (better wear some sunglasses). All will start new again, with no survivors. If this were to happen, why worry? Your not going to feel it anyway. Your missile proof shelters will melt, and you will die in a tomb of metal... Not exactly how I was planning to go. If this happened I would run out of the house naked, and try to dodge as many sky falling rocks as possible. Strip show at my house tomorrow morning.....

2) The North and South pole switch polarization. Now just for reference, this happens ever couple hundred thousands of years. Damn, it really would throw off all of those compasses the Army has. I'm not really sure what else this would bring, but supposedly it would be bad. Maybe that's what happened to all the Dinosaurs? Oh well, just remember, South is the new North, don't get lost in the woods...

3) Zombie Apocalypse... Now this one I think is the most possible. Millions of the undead come to life and start their search for brains. Don't worry, I know a lot of you are safe from this (Especially DC drivers). Since Twinkies have gone the way of the Dodo (they are gone, get with the program), we won't have the staple of food searched for in movies and TV shows. Time to stock up on small arms ammunition, and remember shoot for the head. Its the only way to kill them. I guess its too late for you to practice shooting, so all women, show up to my house naked (Don't want clothes to interfere with running, plus we have to start repopulating immediately). I'll keep you safe, until we run out of ammo, then I will just start throwing you at the zombies (unless I like you of course). Bring food, the frig is rather empty. Bring alcohol, might as well get a little tipsy before we start shooting....

Come on people, none of this will happen, and if I am wrong, we can have fun during the whole thing! As far as my plans for this weekend- I plan on showing up to work tomorrow, and driving to Myrtle Beach in the evening. Even the Mayans have come out and said that its only the end of a cycle, not the end of the world...

Guess we will find out tomorrow morning....

Gun Control

Happy Tuesday All! We are getting closer to that magical time of year called Christmas! I hope everyone has all of their shopping done!

Well yesterday I wanted to just go off on something, but I didn't, for once I bit my tongue. I can't go on any longer....

Gun Control....

I feel deeply saddened by all of these shooting that keep happening in our country, but taking away guns is not the answer.

- Drugs aren't legal, but people get them anyway.
- Food doesn't make people fat, or spoons, or forks, its the people that can't control what they eat, or decide not to exercise.
- Guns don't kill people, psychotic idiots do.

What we actually need are more good people armed. Why take away our right to protect ourselves because some people are not responsible? If a crazed lunatic was walking around in the streets (and trust me, there are a lot of them), are they going to rob a person with a sidearm, or the person with the sign that says ban all guns. Sounds like an easy target if you ask me.

Most of these killings happen in the states with the toughest gun laws. How many people down south do you hear about places and people getting shot up and robbed. No, most of them happen in places that freely say ban all guns.

Besides, if we ban guns, how do soldiers off duty train? How do people hunt? You are taking away a primitive right by trying to please everyone who is stuck in denial.

It won't work. Go back to the days where every responsible human being can carry a sidearm. People will tread more lightly, and things will get better.

Whats in a Weekend

Well we all made it through another weekend, Happy Monday All!

Before I go any futher I want to express my sympathy and condolences for all that were affected by the Tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. My heart goes out to you.

Well my weekend was semi relaxing, and I did get a little bit of studying done. Here's how it went:

Friday- I went and got the front tire of my car fixed for my travels next week. Then it was back home to study and watch a little TV. I had a friend come over, and got a massage. It was much needed since my entire body was still sore from the new workouts.

Saturday- Gym first thing in the morning. Then it was a travel day. I like going to the different military posts. It makes me really miss the life though. It gets me to think about what I am missing. I am getting very close to a decision though, so that will be coming soon. A friend and I went to Ft. Meade to the PX for some last minute Christmas shopping. Then we took a trip down to Ft. Belvior. We weren't there long, but I will have to go back. I bought to books while I was there: Red Badge of Courage, and Lincolns guide to Leadership. These should help with my leadership skills, and help me progress my career. If anything, they should be good reads. Then it was back home for some more studying.

Sunday- Gym first thing, then home to do a little bit of cleaning. I weighed in at 190.6lbs. I've come a long way in less than a year. I still have a few more pounds to go though. As a treat, I went to Ryans for lunch. Then since I felt stuffed and fat again, it was time to go home and watch some football. I also watched the movie Ted yesterday. That movie was hilarious.

The Jets play tonight, if they win, they are still in the playoff hunt. I also received bad news this morning about my favorite baseball team. They are trading R.A. Dickey. WTF people, how to you expect to contend next year if you don't make any moves during the off-season, other than the ones that hurt our team. Yes, you resigned David Wright, but aren't you supposed to build around him? Ownership gets into legal problems and the fans have to pay for it!!!

Well all, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

I hope all of you are getting your Christmas shopping done, you are running out of days. Just think by this time next week you'll be counting down the final day (If the world doesn't end like some people have predicted). Myself on the other hand will be preparing to drive to Myrtle Beach to be with family! This weekend however, will be a semi relaxing weekend.

Friday- Moose lodge (Maybe) for some poker, then maybe out to meet an old friend. We'll see, my legs have been in pain lately, so I may just go home and study.

Saturday- Gym, Then Cleaning. I still have to get the tire fixed on the car before the trip. I also have to go down to Ft. Meade and pick up my free football tickets for the Military Bowl on the 27th. Then I will study and relax.

Sunday- Whatever I didn't finish on Saturday! lol

Change of Plans

Well Happy Thursday! One day closer to Friday, and one day closer to the end of the world! I'm not saying the world will end on the 21st, but it will end someday, so live your life like you have no tomorrow, be happy, and get everything you want!

Tomorrow night I was supposed to go see Hinder and Nonpoint play at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, Md. I find out tonight if this is still happening, but as of right now, it isn't because of my buddies work conflict. He's the one with the tickets, so we will see what happens. However, If that falls through, I may get to see an old friend who I haven't spent any time with in a long, long time. If that falls through, I'll just end up at the gym and studying lol. I have to get something done this weekend right?

Getting closer to the Hinder/ Nonpoint concert, Then a week until I leave for the beach for a few days. It will be nice to spend the holidays with family.

Well Yesterday, I had a mini breakdown. What the fuck was I thinking? I think I broke every rule that I originally set out for myself, and i tend to preach. Its all good now, I'm over it.

Its back to living life one day at a time, doing things for me, and letting life take its course. I can't be sweating the small stuff, and I have to look at the big picture. I HAVE GOALS TO ACCOMPLISH!!! I'm a fighter, and I'm going to push along, doing everything I need to do to survive!

Weekend (2)

Happy Monday All!!! Well as far as my plans went last weekend, everything changes. So here we go, the recap of a weekend full of fun as we go.

Friday- I was going to go to the Moose, Instead I went home and studied a little, and watched the new Batman movie. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you do. Its pretty good, with lots of action.

Saturday- Supposed to be a study day. Started off going to the gym at 7am. Then it was home to clean a little, then off to the Bass Pro Shop. That place was a madhouse, but not so bad that you couldn't walk around. I bought a couple new bottles of hot sauce. Then on the way home we decided to stop at the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks. Looked around the PX a little, then went to the museum. Its a very interesting place, with a lot to learn. We made it about half way through before we were hungry and decided to leave. Well right about now is when the Army- Navy game started. Listened to the first half on the radio, and the second at the Green Turtle. Then it was off to the Moose for a few hours. I did some work, then watched Frosty the Snowman. That movie may never get old. After a busy day, it was time to go home and pass out.

Sunday- Went to the gym and weighed in. I gained weight last week, and I know I ate like crap, so this week its back in to full force. Went to Walmart, bought a printer, then back home for some studying. A friend came over while I was studying to watch the football games, then cooked me a damn good dinner. After i watched the Saints get a beat down, it was time to go to bed.

Not to exciting, but I had fun! Thank you to the friend that spent the weekend with me, I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Well here we go, Its Friday! Grab your cup of coffee, because its smooth sailing from here until Monday! Here are my plans for the weekend, and I must warn you, its boring!

Friday- Work than maybe some poker tonight. We'll see, I didn't get much studying done last night, so I have to push to get that done.

Saturday- Christmas shopping (Should take a whole 10 minutes), and i have to get a couple new tires on the car. Then more studying. Yup, this weekend is getting exciting, can't you tell? Oh yea, the Army-Navy game is on, I never look forward to this, Army has lost the last few, maybe this year we can reverse that streak.

Sunday- Breakfast (or lunch, depending on when I wake up). Then more disgraceful Jets football.

I will also sprinkle in a lot of studying in throughout the weekend.

Brrrr....

Well so much for our unseasonably warm winter... It all changed this morning when I went outside to run. Little nippy out there. Oh well, things still need to get done whether its 100degrees out or -20. This all makes me a better person in the end... Doesn't it?

Well yesterday, I filled out my AGR application. I didn't send it in though. I'm still not sure if its a step I want to take. I have time though, and it may be a future decision, once I get a little more rank under my belt. It would be nice to get into the AGR as an officer, but I'm not sure if I want to wait that long... Only time will tell.

Getting closer to another weekend. Looks like I will spend most of it studying, with a hint of fishing sprinkled in to liven up the mix...

Warmer Weather

Wow, Hump day already! Happy hump day all!!!!

As most of you know, I have trouble sleeping at times. Usually I pass out far to early, and wake up far to early. Sometimes, I only get an hour or two, because my mind is racing. I usually think about life, love, and my next move. Yes, believe it or not 75% of everything I do is a highly calculated move (yes, I know I am pretty good at making it seem like I fly by the seat of my pants 100% of the time). Here is what I have come up with:

Life- Life happens. Whatever you plan, only half is going to happen. Failures come, and so does success. The key is to outweigh the bad with more good. I know I am full of cliches, but they all have meaning. People come and go in life, some come back, some don't. You have to hold onto the ones that come back, and replace the ones that don't. the ones that don't you never needed, but they will always have a special place in your mind. Learn from life, that's what it is there for.

Love- I am married to the Army. Anyone that is with me knows this. Even as a reservist, half of my day, every day is spent working on things to progress my career. Women, like friends, come and go, but you have to hold on to the ones that stay and understand. I could be gone at any minute, and even though I will always come back, they have to be willing to wait. This is a hard thing to swallow, but I have worked my ass off for what I have accomplished, and I'm not even half way there yet.

Next Move- Who knows?!?!?!?! This is where I wish I had a crystal ball. Things happen, you get sent in a different direction every day. What you do today may effect everything you are working towards, and on the other hand, it may not. Just keep going, live one day at a time, and follow your senses. In the end, we all die, but hopefully, we made ourselves a special place in the hearts of others.

Well, theres a glimpse into my head. I hope me writing every day has touched someone, even if just a little!

Enjoy every waking moment. The grass is green somewhere, you just have to find it. Have a great day all!

Tuesday 12-4-12

Whats so magical about Tuesday? Well for one its not Monday! Every day alive is another great day. I hope yours is great as well.

Lots to do today, so I'm not to sure what to write about. This weekend, I'm not too sure whats going on except for fishing Friday night.

I still have many decisions to make in the upcoming months. I still haven't completely decided if I want to stay in Maryland, or keep doing what I am doing. Oh well, things will all come together eventually. We will just have to see where fate takes me, and let it drive all the way...

Accomplishment

Happy Monday All! I hope everyone had a productive weekend. Mine was full with ups and down, as every weekend is. I guess you just have to hope for more ups than downs in life. So here's my weekend....

Friday- Stopped by the Moose Lodge for a little dinner. Went home to prepare my uniform for the weekend. While I was doing such, I received a Facebook Message from a friend and neighbor. It said to watch out, because a number of houses on the block have been burglarized in the last few weeks. They had been going through basement windows. Sure enough, I went downstairs into the basement, and one of my windows was out. Nothing was stolen (I'm a soldier, I really don't have much), but the cops were called anyway. We filled out a report, then it was time for bed.

Saturday- Reserve day 1. PT test first thing in the morning. This is what I have worked for. Just to refresh memories a little, here is how the Army PT test goes. There are 3 timed events (2 minutes for each event, push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run), each even you are given a points score from 0-100. You need a 60 in each event to pass. Here's what I needed for 60's:

- 36 Push-Ups
- 42 Sit-Ups
- 17:42 in the 2-mile run

My scores with points values next to it:

- 75 Push-Ups (100 points)
- 53 Sit-Ups (73 points)
- 16:38 2 mile run (69 points)

I Passed!!!!!!! I'm not going to say that I am completely happy with my score, because I want to max every event, but I did much better then I thought I would.

The rest of the day was filled with training and classes. Nothing fun, but needed to get done.

Sunday- Reserves day 2. Christmas party. First formation was the Class A inspection, I did not participate since I don't have uniforms yet (other than the one I bought). Then we just hung out until they called a special formation at around 1100. I got promoted to Specialist E-4. This is another step toward my ultimate goal. Two goals accomplished in one weekend. Not too bad if you ask me. The rest of the day was spent with everyone elses family, hanging out around the center. When I got home, it was time to clean, then off to bed.
