Well happy Hump Day all!!! Had a great day yesterday!!! Here we go!!!!
Well it is all coming together. Here's how my day at MEPS (Military in processing) went from start to finish. It was a bumpy road, but I got through it.
0345- Wake up at a hotel in Harrisburg, Pa.
0430- Downstairs in the lobby waiting for the idiots who overslept. I'll just say, all the guys I was in charge of were on time. Some people decided that they didn't need to get up until it was time to leave, so everyone was late to breakfast. Thank God, I brought my own...
0530- Back on the bus too MEPS.
0600- Arrive at the MEPS station
0615- Off to my medical exam..... This is where I was getting worried. You can't study for medical. I started off with my vision test. I almost failed. I know that my vision has been getting worse, but now I know I NEED to go get contacts. Then it was to the hearing test. Passed with flying colors.
Then it was back to more medical briefings. Took a breathalyzer (Which I passed). Then it was off to get blood drawn. Yup, I'm still disease free lol. Then yet another pee test. Yup passed again. Then it was time for the dreaded Ortho test. This is where I wasn't sure. I'm getting older, and all of my joints don't exactly act they way they should at times. It doesn't bother me, but sometimes I get sore. I had to take the tests a couple of times but in the end I passed!!! Thank god I don't have to do that ever again!!!
Then it was Height and Weight time-
Height- 71in (5' 11")....
Weight- 205.5 (Max weight- 195)
Tape test- 23% Body Fat (Max Body Fat Allowed 24%)
I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1100- Lunch Time
1115- In to get my job back. I went through the Security check again, then I got my 89B Ammunition Specialist Job. I had to sacrifice rank for extra bonus money, but that's OK, I'll get it all in time.
1430- Swore in as a soldier again...
I DID IT!!!!!!!!! It took a lot of hard work, but the U.S. Army now owns me for at least the next 6 years.
One goal down, 4 more to go....
1) Get back into the Army
2) Pass the PT test
3) Become a Warrant Officer
4) Weigh in at 185
5) Personal goal in which I wont get into on-line, but it may happen soon
I hope everyone has a great day!!!
