Happy Hump Day All!!!!!!
Well we are getting there. Today I ran 2.25 miles in under my 2mile time on the elliptical. I don't know how that transfers over to outdoor track running, but I'm still proud. Why do I run a quarter of a mile more then needed you may ask... Because I want to train for more, just so that I'm not dying on the last lap of any event. IF this transfers over equally, my 15:30 two mile time will transfer to a score of 80. GO ME!!! Sorry, every so often I have to toot my own horn. My ultimate goal is to score a perfect PT test. I'm still a long way off, but its getting there.
Now since This is a me doing work type of blog today, I would like to touch on something that tweaks me just a little bit. All of these people that think welfare shouldn't be drug tested. I'm sorry, but if I have to get piss tested for my army paycheck, welfare should have to do the same. I want to know that my hard earned money isn't going towards drugs. Alcohol should be included in the test. If you can afford enough alcohol to piss hot, you sure as hell don't need to be getting the governments money.
I understand that people need welfare, but quite honestly, if you don't have the determination to get a job, and aren't trying, I don't feel sorry for you. I understand everyone goes through hard times, and that's why the money is there. However, If you are going to sit on the couch eating Krispy Kremes with your 18 children under the age of 12, Fuck you.....
Sorry for the soap box rant, but it needed to be said.
Have a great day all!!!!

Remember FL......majority tested clean of drugs.....I would test my drs first for rx drug abuse before I would test any more welfare recipients.
ReplyDeleteOk, thats all well and good, However, I would like to see how many test positive in New York, and DC. A Majority is fine, but ALL should pass. It would be both a war on drugs and welfare. As far as the Dr's go, Damn right test them too.....
DeleteI don't usually put this out there, but I hate that everyone gets lumped into one category with this stuff. I'm a single mom with three part-time jobs and I qualify for several programs that everyone calls "welfare." No, I don't get cash assistance. I hate that people abuse the system that I've had to rely on to help me. And even if I had a full-time job that paid better, my son would still qualify for medical assistance because of his (for lack of better term) disability. I have never touched an illegal substance in my life and never would. I do think that if you want to start a real war on drugs, don't single out the "welfare" people. I have had to work with several people that abuse drugs daily and their drug use inconveniences others because they can't do their job right. But after you get hired somewhere, what place truly will make you go for a drug test if you show up to work under the influence? I've worked places that claimed they would, but that never happened. I could probably go on for days, but I'm going to stop there. I just honestly think it is a losing battle. We can fight all we want, but there will always be suppliers looking to make a buck.
